Welcome to First Grade! My name is Ms. Lee and this will be my second year teaching first grade at SMA. I have gone to Catholic school for most of my life, and have grown up with strong Catholic beliefs. I grew up about 20 miles west of Chicago in Elmhurst. I attended St. Charles Borromeo Grade School and Immaculate Conception High School. I then attended Augustana College in Rock Island, IL and received my B.S in Sociology and Psychology. At Augustana College I played on the woman’s basketball team. I was also a part of many service and mentoring clubs. After Augustana, I continued to Elmhurst College to obtain a degree in Elementary Education. Along with that, I am currently pursuing a Masters in Reading with a goal to become a Reading Specialist from Concordia University.
I enjoy making learning fun, exciting, and interesting. I enjoy teaching our curriculum, as well as morals and Christian beliefs. Along with teaching last year, I was also a coach for the SMA Girls Volleyball Team for grades 5-8. We made it to the championship and had a great season. I am very excited for this upcoming season.
I welcome anyone that would like to come in and join our class. We have fun, learn a lot, and love God. As we say in our first grade class “We are a fun and hardworking TEAM!”
